C4DU Annual Conference
The Center for Decoding the Universe (C4DU) hosts an Annual Conference that brings together leading researchers in astrophysics, AI/ML, data science, and statistics to advance data-driven discovery in the physical sciences.
The conference highlights emerging methodologies, from anomaly detection in massive datasets and foundation models for multi-modal data, to simulation-based inference that bridges observed and simulated universes. These approaches are transforming how we extract insight from large, complex datasets and are especially timely as next-generation surveys, including the Vera C. Rubin Observatory’s Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST), usher in a new era of data-intensive astrophysics.
By convening experts across disciplines, the Annual Conference identifies new opportunities for inference, methodological innovation, and scientific discovery at the frontier of physics and AI.
This year’s gathering, the 2026 Conference on Physics and AI (PAI26), will be hosted in collaboration with the American Physical Society’s Group on Data Science and the NeurIPS Machine Learning and Physical Sciences Workshop team.
