Join Stanford's Sustainability Data Science Revolution
Join us for the third Sustainability Data Science (SuDS) Conference organized by Stanford Data Science and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability! This year’s SuDS will take place in the new Computing and Data Science (CoDa) building on April 10th, 2025, bringing together the data science and sustainability communities on campus. Given the increasing complexity and size of environmental datasets, as well as the urgency of the sustainability and climate change issues we face, the time is ripe for data scientists and sustainability scientists to forge collaborations and solve impactful problems using novel datasets, methods, and algorithms.
We are looking for students and postdocs working on sustainability and data science to give 8-10-minute presentations about their work. For sustainability researchers (e.g. Earth System Science, Geophysics, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Energy Resource Engineering, etc.), we welcome topics that include but are not limited to novel environmental datasets, data-driven analyses of environmental datasets, or important sustainability science research questions that will require the creative use of data science approaches. Data scientists (e.g. Applied Math, Computational Math, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, etc.), we invite you to share your cutting-edge methods, algorithms, and analyses that could benefit how we tackle sustainability challenges.
Why present at SuDS?
- Connect with leading researchers and forge collaborations
- Showcase your work to influential faculty members
- Monetary rewards for best student and postdoc presentation awards
- Be part of Stanford's growing movement to leverage data science for planetary sustainability
