Submissions Now Open: Open Science Awards at Stanford University
We are excited to announce that nominations are now open for the annual Open Science Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to open science and reproducibility across the Stanford community.
These awards celebrate researchers who are advancing transparent, rigorous, and collaborative scientific practices. We invite nominations for two categories:
Open Science Champion Prize (faculty)
Open Science Innovator Prize (graduate students, trainees, postdocs, and staff scientists)
The nomination process is intentionally streamlined to respect your time, and self-nominations are welcome. Submissions are open now through March 31.
Awardees will receive a cash prize and an official distinction added to their ORCID record, providing a lasting, visible marker of recognition on their CV.
For more details about the awards, including past recipients, please visit the Open Science Awards page.
In addition, our colleagues at Stanford University Libraries are accepting submissions for their Data Sharing Prize, which recognizes excellence in research data sharing. This prize has a separate nomination process. Submit here.
All award winners will be announced on April 29 at the upcoming CORES Annual Symposium—an opportunity to celebrate achievements in open and reproducible science with the broader community.
We encourage you to nominate deserving colleagues (or yourself!) and help highlight the impactful work being done across Stanford.
