We're thrilled to welcome Brian to Stanford Data Science! Brian is a joint appointment with the Department of Statistics and follows in the footsteps of Laura Gwilliams and Brian Hie as SDS Faculty. With an impressive background from Columbia University and the University of Washington, and a PhD from MIT in Computational and Systems Biology, Brian is no stranger to innovation. He's been at the forefront of using statistical machine learning to tackle big issues in biotechnology and medicine, creating hundreds of new molecules proven effective in labs. Looking ahead, Brian aims to revolutionize genetic engineering with his research, addressing everything from curing diseases to enhancing agricultural resilience against climate change.
