Aishwarya Mandyam
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science and I work with Barbara Engelhardt and Emma Brunskill. My research centers on developing reinforcement learning methods tailored to challenges in healthcare settings. These include designing adaptive intervention algorithms to promote physical activity, creating statistically rigorous techniques to assess reinforcement learning policies in clinical contexts, and leveraging electronic health records to determine optimal treatment strategies for specific patient subgroups. I completed undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Philosophy, as well as a Masters in Computer Science, all from the University of Washington. Beyond research, I am an avid runner and have a particular fondness for black forest cake.
