Aldís Elfarsdóttir

Aldís Elfarsdóttir is a PhD student in Management Science and Engineering at Stanford, advised by Prof. Markus Pelger. She studies how to manage the clean energy transition among global firms, and the challenges with self-reported data, carbon accounting, and ESG ratings. Prior to Stanford, Aldís earned a BS in Environmental Engineering at Harvard. She fondly recalls her postgraduate fellowship at the Netherlands Institute for Space Research, developing a methane detection algorithm for landfills and other hotspots using TROPOMI satellite data. In her free time, Aldís enjoys making clothes with upcycled textiles; playing Baroque and improvisational violin music with friends; and healthy outdoor activities like swimming, backpacking, and potlucks.
