Natural Language Processing

Anjalie Field

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford Data Science, where I work with Professors Dan Jurafsky and Jennifer Eberhardt. My research focuses on social-oriented natural language processing (NLP). This work includes developing automated approaches to investigating issues like stereotypes, prejudice, and propaganda in text, as well as critically examining the societal impacts of NLP technology. As a Stanford Data Science Fellow, I will be researching disparities along social dimensions in language used in government services and related text corpora.

I received my PhD from the Language Technologies Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in 2022, where I was advised by Professor Yulia Tsvetkov. I completed my bachelors degree at Princeton University in Computer Science with minors in Latin and Ancient Greek. In Fall 2023, I will begin as an assistant professor in Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University.
