Economics
Jonas Metzger
My research connects ideas from economics and computer science. Most of my work examines how techniques from machine learning, particularly adversarial methods, can help researchers better understand the causal mechanisms affecting social welfare. I also explore how data-driven algorithms can alleviate coordination failures in real-world strategic settings, e.g., by clarifying which international carbon contracts are mutually beneficial, or by reducing the information asymmetries which limit the capital access of entrepreneurs in developing economies.
