Koji Abe

Koji Abe is a Research Data Scientist and computational biologist focused on reliable, reproducible machine learning workflows for biomedical research. He previously worked at Stanford Medicine’s Human Immune Monitoring Center, building multi-omics biomarker modeling pipelines with generalization testing, interpretability, and scalable execution on Stanford’s Marlowe GPU/HPC cluster. He also develops enablement tools—such as an R Shiny application for immunoassay QC and reporting—to standardize analyses and reduce ad hoc burden for collaborators. Koji is currently a Research Data Scientist on the Marlowe research computing enablement team, supporting researchers with GPU/HPC workflows, performance debugging, and reproducible best practices. Previously, he led and supported rapid diagnostic development in industry, including a COVID-19 rapid antigen test program contributing to EUA approval. He holds a PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Washington.
