Stanford Law School

Takuma Iwasaki

Takuma Iwasaki is a third-year doctoral student (JSD candidate) at Stanford Law School, where he is advised by Professor John Donohue. His research lies at the intersection of law and data science, with a focus on applying causal inference and natural language processing to legal questions. Drawing on his legal background, Takuma’s work encompasses corporate governance, criminal policy, and affirmative action, with the goal of addressing legal issues through data-driven analysis.

Before joining Stanford, Takuma earned his LL.B. and J.D. from the University of Tokyo. Then, he practiced law at a leading business law firm, specializing in quantitative analysis for legal cases, mergers and acquisitions, antitrust, and international trade.
