Epidemiology and Population Health

Anna Nguyen

I am a third-year PhD student in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health under the mentorship of Dr. Jade Benjamin-Chung. My research focuses on childhood infectious diseases in low-resources settings, where I evaluate the effectiveness of different interventions and identify the populations for which they would be most impactful. In my dissertation, I am studying the mechanisms through which malaria prophylaxis during pregnancy and childhood impacts child growth using longitudinal biomarker data on inflammation and gut microbiome composition. Before coming to Stanford, I received a BA in Public Health + Data Science and an MPH in Epidemiology + Biostatistics from UC Berkeley.
