Iván Higuera-Mendieta

Iván is a PhD. student at the Doerr School of Sustainability working with Prof. Marshall Burke. His research employs causal inference and computer vision to understand and measure the effects of environmental degradation, focusing on wildfires and climate change. He is passionate about developing and contributing to open-source software projects. Prior to Stanford, Iván was a pre-doctoral fellow at the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago working at the Climate Impact Lab and a Data Scientist at the The Data Science and Public Policy Lab, now at Carnegie Mellon. He has a BA in Economics from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.
