Russell Poldrack

Russ Poldrack is a cognitive neuroscientist who uses brain imaging to study how the brain gives rise to the mind. He is deeply interested in improving the way that science is done, by providing researchers with tools and knowledge to help them do research that is more reproducible and more transparent.

Poldrack received a BA in Psychology from Baylor University and a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. After doing a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University, he held faculty positions at Harvard Medical School, UCLA, and the University of Texas at Austin. Poldrack is currently the Albert Ray Lang Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychology at Stanford University.

Poldrack is the faculty director of the SDS Center for Open and Reproducible Science, which aims to develop and nurture transparency and reproducibility in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data across all domains of scientific activity.
